Leading across cultures: five ways to build real trust

Trust looks different in Tirana, Seoul and Lagos. What stays the same.

Most people in ministry don’t burn out because they work too much in one week. They burn out because nothing ever stops: no clear end of the day, no clear end of a project, and a feeling that rest must be earned.

Five early signs

  • You feel tired after a full night of sleep.
  • Small things make you angry, and you don’t know why.
  • Prayer feels like one more task on the list.
  • You avoid people you used to enjoy.
  • You think often about leaving, but never talk about it.

What you can do this week

Pick one evening and protect it. Tell one person how you really are. Write down three things you carry that are not yours to carry. None of these will fix everything, but each one is a step you can take now.

And if you notice three or more of the signs above: please talk to someone. That is what coaches are here for.

Want to talk about this? Fritz and other coaches can help.
